West Ham United will return to action on Saturday as they welcome Chelsea to the London Stadium for an exciting Premier League contest.
The Hammers will enter the upcoming match on the back of a 1-1 draw against Newcastle United.
The Magpies made a stunning start as Callum Wilson grabbed the opener in the first three minutes of the game.
But Lucas Paqueta restored parity before the interval and the visitors ultimately held out for a brilliant draw.
The stalemate leaves them 17th in the Premier League table, with a single point above the relegation zone.
West Ham’s fixtures in February show they will be up against Tottenham Hotspur after their clash against Chelsea.
The Blues endured a goalless draw against Fulham at Stamford Bridge at the weekend.
They were very active in the January transfer window as they brought in some world-class players. But despite featuring their new signings Mykhailo Mudryk, Enzo Fernandez and Benoit Badiashile, the Londoners failed to secure a victory.
Graham Potter’s side are currently ninth in the league standings, with 10 points between them and the top-four.
Match Preview
West Ham United
The Hammers have seen a mini-revival recently as they are unbeaten in their previous three matches across all competitions. That run also includes a superb 2-0 victory over Everton, which later resulted in the sacking of Frank Lampard.
However, West Ham’s recent record against their London rivals don’t look very encouraging. Chelsea have emerged victorious in four of their previous five meetings with the Irons.
The two sides last met in September at Stamford Bridge where Ben Chilwell and Kai Havertz scored to lead the home side to a comfortable 2-1 win.
Chelsea
Manager Graham Potter has been under intense scrutiny recently with Chelsea enduring a miserable run of form. The Blues have won only one of their last seven matches across all competitions.
The West London outfit have been massively struggling to score goals, with only two strikes in their previous five matches. They signed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the summer but the Gabon striker failed to make an impact. And now latest Chelsea news suggest the 33-year-old will certainly leave the club soon.
The patience of Chelsea fans is running out and Potter must make a turnaround soon. The English boss has been heavily backed in January and now he doesn’t have any excuses not to deliver good results at Stamford Bridge.
