Preview: West Ham United vs Tottenham Hotspur – Prediction, Team News, Line-ups

West Ham United will look to end their dreadful Premier League run when they welcome Tottenham Hotspur to the London Stadium on Sunday.

The Hammers lost 3-2 to Brighton & Hove Albion last time out, while Ange Postecoglou’s side suffered a 5-1 thrashing in their latest league fixture.

Match Preview

The transition from Julen Lopetegui to Graham Potter has failed to revive West Ham’s fortunes.

There have been some improvements in defence since the arrival of the English boss, but results have been a big source of frustration for the supporters.

Potter has managed to win just three of his 15 games in charge, losing eight and drawing the other four.

The Irons’ most recent defeat came at Brighton last Saturday. The visitors were in a brilliant position to take maximum points back to East London after second-half strikes from Mohammed Kudus and Tomas Soucek put them 2-1 ahead.

But a late rally from the Seagulls saw Kaoru Mitoma equalising before Carlos Baleba’s stunning winner in stoppage time.

On the other hand, Tottenham took a sound beating last weekend at the hands of Liverpool.

The Reds condemned the North Londoners to a 5-1 defeat, wrapping up the 2024-25 Premier League title.

However, Spurs’ whole focus is now on the Europa League, where they took a massive step in their quest for a continental final by crushing Bodo/Glimt 3-1 in the semi-final first leg.

Team News

Tottenham will not be able to avail the services of Son Heung-min and Radu Dragusin due to fitness issues. Lucas Bergvall, James Maddison and Dominic Solanke could also miss out after picking up injuries against Bodo/Glimt.

Meanwhile in West Ham news, Michail Antonio and Crysencio Summerville remain long-term absentees for the East Londoners. Edson Alvarez’s availability is also doubtful for Sunday’s clash at the London Stadium.

West Ham United vs Tottenham Hotspur prediction

West Ham have been far from convincing with their performances this campaign. But the Lilywhites have been hugely underwhelming as well.

We believe the two teams will play out a draw this weekend.
