West Ham United will resume their Premier League campaign on Saturday when they welcome Manchester United to the London Stadium. 

The Red Devils played out a goalless draw at Liverpool last week, with the result leaving them in seventh position in the table. Meanwhile, the Hammers are a point behind them in ninth spot.

West Ham’s last game saw them suffering a 5-1 thrashing at the hands of Liverpool in midweek, thus crashing out of the League Cup. 

The Reds completely dominated the Anfield encounter as they registered an incredible 29 shots compared to the Irons’ just two. 

In a breathtaking attacking display, Dominik Szoboszlai, Curtis Jones, Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah all found the target to help Liverpool to a comfortable victory. 

However, the Hammers have topped their Europa League group to make it to the knockouts, and are also sitting comfortably in the upper half of the Premier League table. 

On the other hand, Manchester United held their arch-rivals Liverpool to a goalless draw on Sunday. 

Normally, this wouldn’t have been such a great result but given United’s miserable run of form and injury problems, a point was still impressive. 

Jurgen Klopp’s side dominated possession but couldn’t find a way past the Red Devils’ disciplined defence. 

United boss Erik ten Hag has been facing a lot of scrutiny after a series of unconvincing performances in recent weeks. 

The Dutchman must revive their fortunes soon, otherwise he could face the sack like the other managers before him. 

Team News 

West Ham will not have the services of Michail Antonio who is still recovering from a knee problem. But Nayef Aguerd and Maxwel Cornet are expected to be part of the proceedings after illness. 

As for Manchester United, Bruno Fernandes will return to the team after serving his suspension against Liverpool. Meanwhile, Casemiro, Harry Maguire, Mason Mount, Tyrell Malacia, Lisandro Martinez, and Amad Diallo will all be sidelined for Saturday’s game at the London Stadium.
