Kyle Walker-Peters agrees to join West Ham on three-year deal

West Ham United are set to sign free agent Kyle Walker-Peters.

According to reputed journalist Fabrizio Romano, the 28-year-old has agreed to join the East London outfit on a three-year deal.

Walker-Peters appeared to be heading to Turkey after reaching an agreement in principle with Besiktas.

But Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side pulled out of the deal after the player asked to delay travelling to Istanbul to complete a medical.

However, the English footballer will now be moving to West Ham after agreeing a three-year deal.

Talks have reportedly progressed very quickly between Walker-Peters and the Irons and formal steps are now set to take place for him to complete the move.

The full-back is an academy product of Tottenham Hotspur who made his full Premier League debut on the opening day of the 2017-18 season against Newcastle United.

He went on to make a handful of appearances over the following years but failed to establish himself as a regular at Spurs.

Walker-Peters left to join Southampton in January 2020, initially on loan that was later made permanent for £12 million in the following summer.

The 28-year-old remained a key first-team member for the Saints over the years, featuring regularly under five different permanent managers including Ralph Hassenhuttl, Nathan Jones, Ruben Selles, Russell Martin and Ivan Juric.

He made 202 appearances across all competitions, scoring seven goals and providing 12 assists in the process.

Walker-Peters featured in 33 Premier League matches last term, but couldn’t help Southampton from an immediate return to the Championship.

West Ham want to bolster their defence in the ongoing summer transfer window, as they aim to make a comeback after a disappointing 2024-25 campaign.

Walker-Peters looks to be a good fit to the Hammers’ needs as he boasts a wealth of experience and is capable of playing as either a left or right-sided full-back.
