Julen Lopetegui’s West Ham era commences with affordable season tickets

West Ham United fell short of their Europa League title charge and finished ninth in the Premier League in 2023/24, signalling the end of David Moyes’ second tenure at the London Stadium.

Shortly after the campaign, the Hammers parted with the veteran manager, appointing former Wolverhampton Wanderers flop Julen Lopetegui as his successor.

As speculation surrounding Lucas Paqueta’s future continues to make the headlines, the 2022/23 Europa Conference League winners head into the 2024/25 season with uncertainty.

Perhaps aware of the difficulty of the situation, West Ham could be trying to make amends to their fans by offering the cheapest adult tickets in the Premier League at £345.

It’s an 11.3% increase on the £310 figure they charged last term, though the Hammers’ season tickets are still more affordable than Ipswich Town’s or those of other newly-promoted clubs.

Fans won’t have to wait long to see Lopetegui’s troops in action at the home stadium after the Premier League released the 2024/25 fixture list on Tuesday.

West Ham’s new season kicks off at the London Stadium against last season’s surprise package, Aston Villa, on August 17, with their first London derby arriving next week against Crystal Palace.

Those two matches should prepare the Irons for a blockbuster clash against defending champions Manchester City in round three.

Man City’s visit to the capital sets the tone for three consecutive all-London match-ups against Fulham, Chelsea and Brentford in September.

Lopetegui’s team will take on promoted Southampton on Boxing Day, while their final Premier League outing in 2024 brings Liverpool to East London.

West Ham’s opening 2025 league contest pits them against Man City on January 4, with the next high-profile game coming on February 1 against Chelsea.

The London outfit will call time on the 2024/25 campaign on May 25 with an away clash against Ipswich.
